In Pakistan, prices of petroleum products are announced twice a month, on the 1st and 15th. On Sunday, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar announced the new prices on the morning of January 29, three days earlier than usual, and also issued an order for immediate implementation.
Explaining the reason for the premature increase, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said that there is no shortage of petrol and diesel in the country, artificial shortages were created through hoarding due to rumors of rising prices.
There were rumors that there would be an increase of 80 rupees per liter, to end which, with the advice of the Prime Minister, it was decided to announce an increase of 35 rupees immediately.
