United Arab Emirates to "cooperate against U.S. and U.K. intelligence agencies : US intelligence

 

U.S. spies caught Russian intelligence officers saying they had convinced the oil-rich United Arab Emirates to "cooperate against U.S. and U.K. intelligence agencies," U.S. intelligence said. According to an alleged US document posted online as part of a larger breach.

U.S. officials declined to comment on the document, which had top-secret markings and was seen by The Associated Press. The Emirati government on Monday rejected any allegations that the UAE had ties with Russian intelligence as "blatant lies".

But the U.S. is increasingly concerned that the UAE is allowing Russia and Russians to circumvent sanctions imposed on an invasion of Ukraine.
