According to Sputnik, Western media quoted the representative of the Chinese diplomatic mission in Washington as reporting that Beijing considers US President Joe Biden's words about Chinese President Xi Jinping as a political provocation.
This diplomat asked Washington to retract Biden's statements. Otherwise, the United States will face consequences that will be the responsibility of the American side.
On Tuesday, Joe Biden said that Xi Jinping did not have all the information about the balloon incident and that he was "very upset" because it was "a great shame for dictators."
The words of the American leader were heard less than a day after the end of the visit of the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to China, where Washington had high hopes for the improvement of relations between the two countries.
For his part, Mao Ning, the spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, pointed out that Biden's words were very irresponsible and severely violated diplomatic etiquette. He called such statements by the representatives of the United States an obvious political provocation.
