The Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) on Tuesday welcomed the reopening of Torkham border for trade after the success of Pakistan-Afghan talks and said bilateral trade would be encouraged after this important development.
In a joint statement issued here, SCCI President Fuad Ishaq, Senior Vice President Sanaullah Khan and Vice President Ijaz Khan Afridi said the opening of the Torkham border would not only promote mutual trade but also resolve the difficulties encountered by traders and exporters. the border has been closed for around ten days.

SCCI officials hoped that the bilateral trade and export process would accelerate after the reopening of the Torkham border due to the successful negotiations between the Pakistani and Afghan governments and the government.
The SCCI chief said the reopening of the Pakistan-Afghanistan border would improve bilateral trade and facilities would be made available to the trading community.
Faud Ishaq and his cabinet members thanked the Prime Minister, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Corps Commander Peshawar, IGFC, Border Management Authorities, Security Forces, Customs and concerned departments for have resolved this important question.
