The Center for Entrepreneurship at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) successfully organized a three-day global event in collaboration with IDEA Lab and Hope Foundation, a non-profit organization of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). November 6, 2024. The MIT-LCE Global Entrepreneurship Conference at LUMS brought together a diverse community of entrepreneurs, academics, students, investors, and influencers.
President of the University of Applied Sciences, Mr. Dr. Tariq Godaun, while welcoming the esteemed guests, emphasized the importance of this conference as a platform for the exchange of knowledge, ideas, and experiences. He thanked American colleagues for sharing their vision of creating value through business projects and innovative ideas.

The conference included sessions with prominent speakers such as Hassan Ajwad Abbas, Vice President of Global CU Program Management at Ericsson and CEO of Omid. Roberto M. Fernandez, professor of organizational studies at MIT's Sloan School of Management; Humberto López Mata, director of international and regulatory affairs, Delta Air Lines; Ms Ayman Khan, Senior Program Manager, Bruce Power. Daniel Dart, early investor and general partner at Rockyard Ventures. Thomas Westerling Bo, Sales Director, Aiforia AI Solutions & Strategy. and Ms. Humaira Shaikh, Senior Director of Retail Product Development for LEGO Group Brand Channels.
Ms. DiFabio commended the MIT Pakistan Executive MBA team for their commitment to creating positive change and developing innovative solutions, especially for underprivileged communities in Pakistan.

These sessions covered the concept and scope of Ideas Lab Pakistan, idea generation, global strategic considerations, renewable energy revolution, cultural dynamics, promotional strategy, artificial intelligence knowledge, and innovation adapted to market needs.
Hassan Ajwad Abbas expressed optimism about the impact of the conference and Omid's future efforts and envisioned a lasting partnership with MIT to promote deep technological innovation in Pakistan.
The conference also featured Project Tabir, a capacity-building initiative between LCE and the U.S. Department of State that provided a unique training and networking opportunity to university Business Development Centers (BICs) in Punjab, Pakistan.
Finally, Professor Noman Zafar, Director of LCE, expressed his satisfaction with the results of the conference, highlighting its role in creating a comprehensive business network for collaborative learning and capacity building with national and international partners.
