On Wednesday, the people who take care of the two special mosques did their yearly job of lifting up the bottom part of the Kaaba's cover, called the kiswa, about three meters high. They then covered this part with a long white cotton cloth that goes all around the Kaaba.
They do this every year for the Hajj time in 2024 to keep the kiswa safe because many people touch it when they walk around the Kaaba in the big mosque in Makkah.
Then they took down the lights, put the white cloth on, and put the lights back on top of the white cloth. They finished by wrapping the bottom part of the Kaaba's door with the kiswa, making sure it was three meters high from the ground.
