Donald Trump was shot in the ear during a campaign rally on Saturday. The attack is expected to have a big impact on the U.S. presidential race and has raised questions about the security provided to the Republican candidate.
Right after the shooting, Trump was surrounded by his security agents. Despite being injured, he emerged from the chaos with blood on his face and pumped his fist in the air, saying "Fight! Fight! Fight!"
The Trump campaign later reported that he was "doing well" and didn't seem to have any major injuries apart from a wound on his upper right ear.
Early Sunday, the FBI identified the shooter as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. He was a registered Republican. Secret Service agents fatally shot him after he opened fire from a building about 140 meters away from the stage where Trump was speaking. They found a rifle near his body.
During the incident, one person attending the rally was killed, and two others were seriously injured, according to the Secret Service.
Law enforcement officials haven't determined the motive behind the attack yet.
Trump, who is 78 years old, had just begun his speech when the shots were fired. He grabbed his ear and kneeled behind the podium before being covered by Secret Service agents.
