Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved a reduction in fuel prices, which was announced just before Pakistan's Independence Day on August 14, 2024.
The government has lowered the petrol price by Rs8.47 per liter, bringing it down from Rs269.43 to Rs260.96 per liter. The cost of high-speed diesel (HSD) has also been reduced by Rs6.7 per liter, from Rs272.77 to Rs266.07 per liter.
This decision was shared through a statement by the Ministry of Information on Tuesday. The price cut is seen as a significant relief for the public as the country prepares to celebrate 77 years of independence.
