A new monsoon system is expected to reach eastern Sindh on August 16, possibly bringing thunderstorms and rain to Karachi and several rural areas of Sindh, according to a weather alert from the Meteorological Department.
Due to this system, Karachi may experience thunderstorms and rain from August 16 to 19. The districts of Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Sanghar, Jamshoro, Dadu, Thatta, Badin, and Sujawal are also likely to see heavy rain and thunderstorms during this time.
Additionally, between August 16 and 19, thunderstorms and rain are also expected in the districts of Ghotki, Sukkur, Khairpur, Kashmore, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, and Larkana.
The Meteorological Department also predicts that Karachi's weather will remain mostly cloudy with light rain and drizzle expected over the next three days. On Tuesday, the city's maximum temperature was recorded at 34.1 degrees Celsius, with humidity at 67%.
