Turkmenistan is about to become the first Central Asian country to use Gwadar Port in Pakistan through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). An agreement between Turkmenistan and Pakistan is expected to be signed soon.
The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is very important for Pakistan’s economy. The new partnership between Turkmenistan and Gwadar Port will allow Turkmenistan to use this key port.
Balochistan, where Gwadar Port is located, is known for its skilled, hardworking, patriotic, and educated people. Soon, an agreement will be signed between Gwadar Port and Turkmenbashi Port in Turkmenistan.
Pakistan and Turkmenistan are already collaborating on several projects, including the TAPI pipeline, railway connections, and fiber optic links. These projects aim to connect South Asia and Central Asia.
The Pakistani government has set up a committee to review the draft agreement between Gwadar Port and Turkmenbashi Port as part of CPEC. Another committee is considering whether to approve allowing 50% of public sector imports to come through Gwadar Port.
The Pakistani government is fully committed to making CPEC successful. There is strong support for CPEC from all Pakistani institutions, political groups, and the educated people of Balochistan.
This effort is expected to significantly boost Pakistan’s socio-economic development, with the people of Balochistan playing a key role in the country’s growth.
