Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar is set to visit Islamabad to participate in the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting in Pakistan.
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs confirmed that Minister Jaishankar’s trip is specifically for this SCO engagement.
In response to the announcement, former Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar remarked that Jaishankar’s visit should be viewed positively, as the SCO summit holds considerable significance. She emphasized the importance of appreciating the Indian Foreign Minister's decision to attend, particularly given the current geopolitical context.
The SCO meeting is scheduled to take place from October 15 to 16 in Pakistan, with both India and Pakistan being permanent members of the organization.
