Priyanka Chopra recently asked her fans not to make fun of her younger self in a funny Instagram post that quickly went viral. The global star, who is 41 and has worked in both Hollywood and Bollywood, shared a picture of herself from when she was younger.
In December 2018, Priyanka married American musician Nick Jonas, and they have a daughter together.
Reflecting on Her Younger Years
In her post, Priyanka shared photos of herself at ages 9 and 17. She reflected on her journey and how much she has changed over the years. With a playful request to her followers, she said, “Don’t troll my 9-year-old self.”
She remembered how her preteen picture wasn't great and talked about her boyish haircut, which she got to save time for school.
Embracing Change
The two photos—one from her childhood and the other from when she was 17 and had won the Miss India title—showed her amazing transformation. Priyanka noted that by age 17, she had fully embraced hair, fashion, and styling, marking a big change from her earlier years.
Recalling her entry into the entertainment industry, she quoted Britney Spears, saying, “I’m not a girl, not yet a woman.” She also mentioned that she is still learning even after 25 years in the business.
Growing Up and Self-Love
Priyanka reflected on her experiences growing up and navigating the entertainment world. She believes that everyone goes through similar stages of growth and self-discovery. Looking back at her childhood has helped her appreciate who she is today even more.
She acknowledged the challenges and encouraged young people to love themselves.
Upcoming Project
On the professional side, Priyanka has recently completed filming for her new movie, The Bluff, set in the 19th-century Caribbean. In this film, she plays a former pirate who must protect her family when her past mistakes threaten their safety. The movie is directed by Frank E. Flowers.
