Islamabad, November 10, 2024 – Russian President Vladimir Putin has strongly condemned the deadly suicide bombing at Quetta’s railway station and pledged to cooperate with Pakistan in its ongoing fight against terrorism. The attack, which took place on November 9, claimed the lives of 27 people and left more than 40 others injured.

In a statement released shortly after the bombing, President Putin expressed his deep sorrow over the loss of life and conveyed Russia’s commitment to assisting Pakistan in countering terrorist threats. He stressed that those responsible for the brutal attack must be brought to justice.

The victims’ funeral prayers were held at Quetta Garrison on November 10, with a large gathering of mourners, including senior officials such as Army Chief General Asim Munir, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, and Balochistan’s Chief Minister. The ceremony was also attended by citizens and community leaders, marking a solemn moment of national grief.

Religious scholars and leaders from various sects quickly condemned the suicide bombing, calling for swift and decisive action against the perpetrators and their supporters. They urged the government to take an uncompromising stance against terrorism, regardless of the group's affiliations.

In a joint statement, clerics and representatives of different religious communities condemned the attack, labeling the terrorists as "brutal killers" of innocent Pakistanis. They also expressed their dismay over the silence of international human rights organizations regarding the attack, calling for greater global attention to the suffering of Pakistanis affected by such violence.

The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) also issued a statement, offering condolences to the families of the victims and calling for immediate political dialogue to address the root causes of militancy in the country. The HRCP stressed the importance of a broad-based national strategy to combat terrorism, calling on the government to unite political factions in efforts to curb extremism and violence.
