Indian actor Allu Arjun, who won the National Award for Best Actor for his performance in the 2021 film Pushpa: The Rise, is now busy preparing for the release of its much-awaited sequel. Pushpa 2: The Rule will hit theaters on December 5, 2024.
At a promotional event for Pushpa 2 in Mumbai, Allu Arjun shared his excitement about winning the National Award and gave credit to his team, especially director Sukumar, for making it possible.
A Dream Come True
Allu Arjun revealed that winning a National Award was a dream he had long before Pushpa: The Rise. He had worked hard to improve his acting and wanted to give a performance that would earn such an honor.
"I’m proud to have won the National Award. It feels even more special because no Telugu actor has won this in the last 69 years. This is not just my win; it's a win for everyone who worked on the film, especially Sukumar Garu," said Arjun.
Gratitude to Key Team Members
The actor also thanked Devi Sri Prasad, the music director who won a National Award for his music in Pushpa: The Rise. Allu Arjun mentioned that his strong friendship with Prasad played a big role in the film’s success.
Future in Bollywood
Looking back at his career, Allu Arjun admitted that working in Bollywood (the Hindi film industry) once seemed impossible. However, after his success in Pushpa, he is now open to the idea of acting in one or two Bollywood films in the future.
“At first, working in Bollywood seemed like a big challenge, but the journey that led to this National Award has been amazing. It shows that hard work pays off,” he said.
