Honda Cars has unveiled plans to expand its car lineup significantly by introducing three new models featuring electric and hybrid power trains by the fiscal year 2026-2027. The automaker will use its advanced e:HEV hybrid technology and introduce a new electric vehicle (EV) brand under the Honda name.
Takuya Tsumura, President and CEO of Honda Cars India, shared the company’s vision to meet the changing demands of Indian customers. Honda plans to offer a mix of traditional petrol-powered cars, along with more eco-friendly hybrid and fully electric models.
Although Honda has not yet revealed details of the upcoming models, rumors suggest that one of them could be an electric version of the Honda Elevate SUV. This could be in line with the rising demand for electric vehicles (EVs) in India.
With increasing competition from brands like TATA Motors, MG Motor, and Mahindra, Honda’s new models aim to strengthen its position in the fast-growing Indian car market.
