IGP Reviews Police Performance and Safe City System in Islamabad

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, chaired important meetings at the Central Police Office (CPO) and Safe City on Thursday. The meetings were attended by senior police officers, including DIG Headquarters Mohammad Jawad Tariq, DG Safe City Shakir Hussain Dawar, and other officials.

During the meetings, IGP Rizvi reviewed the performance and resources of the Anti-Riot Unit, which handles illegal gatherings and protests in Islamabad. He instructed that the unit’s strength should be increased and that young officers should receive better training and more resources to improve their work.

IGP Rizvi also discussed the Safe City camera system. DG Safe City and the IT team gave a presentation on the city’s network of cameras, which help in preventing crimes by monitoring key areas. The IGP said that the Safe City system should be expanded to cover more areas and that faulty cameras at important locations should be repaired quickly.

These steps are part of the IGP's efforts to improve security and law enforcement in the capital city.
