Australian cricketer Matthew Short has officially registered for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 player draft, making him the fourth Australian player to do so. The PSL made the announcement on its social media with a banner and caption, "Australian explosive batter Matthew Short enters the HBL PSL Draft."

The 29-year-old batter has impressive T20 credentials. He has played 14 T20 Internationals (T20Is) for Australia, scoring 293 runs at a strike rate of 163.68, including one half-century.

Short also has extensive experience in franchise cricket worldwide. He has featured in leagues like:

  • Big Bash League (BBL) – 82 matches, 2,033 runs, strike rate of 140.69, including 14 fifties and 1 century.
  • The Hundred, Major League Cricket (MLC), and Indian Premier League (IPL).

Currently, Short represents the Adelaide Strikers in the BBL.

This year’s PSL 10 player draft is set to take place in Gwadar, Balochistan, on January 11, 2025, marking the first time Gwadar will host the event. Short is the 19th foreign player to register for the draft.
