Mandatory Vaccination for Travelers
The Saudi Civil Aviation Authority has made the meningitis vaccine mandatory for all visitors. No traveler will be allowed to enter Saudi Arabia without providing proof of vaccination.

- Passengers must present a meningitis vaccination certificate issued at least 10 days before traveling.
- Children under one year of age are exempt from this requirement.
The aviation authority has instructed all airlines to strictly enforce these rules. Travelers and airlines failing to comply will face legal action and severe penalties.
Polio Vaccination Requirement for Certain Countries
In addition to meningitis, Saudi Arabia has also made the polio vaccination certificate mandatory for passengers from specific countries, including:
- Pakistan
- Afghanistan
- Kenya
- Congo
- Mozambique
Important Details for Polio Vaccination Certificates:
- The certificate must be issued at least four weeks before travel.
- Certificates older than six months will not be accepted.
- Passengers transiting through these countries for less than 12 hours are exempt.
NOTAM Issued for Compliance
The Saudi Civil Aviation Authority has issued a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen), alerting airlines to enforce these health regulations. Failure to comply will result in legal consequences.
