The federal government has raised the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel for the third time in a row, putting more pressure on the public.
According to a notification from the Finance Division, the price of petrol has increased by 1 rupee per liter, bringing the new price to 257.13 rupees per liter.
The price of high-speed diesel has been increased by 7 rupees per liter, making its new price 267.95 rupees per liter.
The notification explained that the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) reviewed recent changes in international oil prices and adjusted the local prices accordingly.
It is important to note that on December 31, the government had already raised petrol prices at the start of the new year, increasing petrol by 56 paisas per liter from January 1. Then, on January 15, the price of petrol was increased again by 3 rupees 47 paisas per liter, while high-speed diesel saw an increase of 2 rupees 61 paisas per liter.
