CAIRO – In a significant diplomatic development, France, Egypt, and Jordan have jointly demanded that Gaza be governed by the Palestinian Authority following the end of the ongoing war, explicitly excluding Hamas from any future administrative role.
During a joint press conference in Cairo, French President Emmanuel Macron stood alongside Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Jordan’s King Abdullah II to deliver a unified message on the future of Gaza.
“Hamas should have no role in governing Gaza, nor should it remain a threat to Israel,” stated President Macron, reinforcing France’s stance against Hamas' influence in the post-war reconstruction of Gaza.

Hamas, which has ruled Gaza since 2007, is currently engaged in conflict with Israel. Although the group has hinted at transferring administrative tasks to a technocratic body, it has not shown any willingness to disarm.

The joint statement also included an urgent call for a ceasefire in Gaza. The leaders warned that without an immediate ceasefire, civilian casualties would continue to mount.
