At least 38 people were killed and more than 100 were injured in a US airstrike on the Ras Isa fuel port in western Yemen, according to Houthi-run media on Thursday. This marks one of the deadliest attacks since the United States began airstrikes on Yemen.
Al Masirah TV, which is controlled by the Houthi group, reported that the strike targeted a key fuel source for the militants. The US Central Command stated on social media that the strike aimed to weaken the Houthis’ ability to fund their operations and reduce their power.
So far, the Pentagon has not confirmed the number of deaths or commented on the Houthi reports.

The United States responded by launching large-scale airstrikes against Houthi targets, saying they would continue unless the attacks on shipping stopped.
During a two-month ceasefire in Gaza, the Houthis paused their attacks on ships. However, after Israel resumed operations in Gaza last month, the Houthis said they would strike again, though no new attacks have been confirmed.
This recent airstrike follows another deadly operation in March, where over 50 people were killed in two days of US airstrikes, according to Houthi officials. The current military action is one of the largest by the US in the Middle East since President Donald Trump took office in January.
