In a shocking incident in Belize, a US citizen was shot and killed after trying to hijack a small plane. The plane, a Cessna Grand Caravan operated by Tropic Air, was flying from Corozal to the popular tourist island of San Pedro.
According to Belize police, the man tried to hijack the plane shortly after takeoff. He threatened the pilot with a knife and ordered him to fly "out of the country." The pilot continued flying and hovered over Belize City International Airport before landing due to low fuel.
