Pakistan govt raises petrol and diesel prices over Rs. 13 each

Petrol and diesel prices are going up again. From July 11, 2026, petrol will sell for Rs310.71 a litre and diesel for Rs323.30 — both up by more than Rs13. Press release has been issued by the Government of Pakistan Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division)

The Petroleum Division confirmed the new rates on Friday. Petrol went up by Rs13.18 per litre, diesel by Rs13.80.

Electric Tram Service Expected to Launch in Lahore During New Financial Year

Just last time, prices had actually gone down a bit — petrol and diesel were both cut by Rs1.97 per litre, bringing them to Rs297.53 and Rs309.50. That relief didn’t last long.

What’s odd is that this hike is coming at a time when oil is actually getting cheaper on the world market. After the recent US-Iran clash, there’s growing hope that oil tankers can keep moving through the Strait of Hormuz without trouble. That pushed Brent crude down 52 cents to $75.78 a barrel, and US crude down 83 cents to $71.25.

But zoom out to the full week, and oil is still up — Brent by about 5%, US crude by close to 4%. So even with Friday’s dip, the region’s tensions are still keeping prices on edge.
