Indonesia has decided to buy advanced J-10C fighter jets from China in a major deal worth nine billion dollars. The Defence Ministry said the deal is part of Indonesia’s plan to upgrade military equipment and strengthen regional deterrence. According to local reports, Indonesian Air Force teams have already started technical tests on the J-10C to check how well the aircraft performs under local conditions.
The J-10C, produced by the Chengdu Aircraft Corporation, is a 4.5-generation multirole fighter jet. It is equipped with an advanced AESA radar system, PL-15 long-range air-to-air missiles, and modern avionics. The aircraft is known for its high maneuverability, strong sensor capabilities, and flexibility in different types of missions.
The J-10C can perform both air-to-air and air-to-ground missions, making it a versatile addition to any air force. Its advanced systems allow it to detect enemy targets at long range and engage them effectively. The jet’s design focuses on speed, agility, and precision, giving it a strong reputation in international defense circles.
Currently, only China and Pakistan use the J-10C. Pakistan bought 36 of these jets in 2020 under its “Project Haq” program.
