Iran rejects US proposal, sets conditions to end war

Iran has rejected a proposal from the United States to end the war. State media reported that Tehran gave a negative response. According to reports, a senior official shared this update. The proposal was seen as unfair and unrealistic.

The official said Iran will decide when the war ends. He added that no outside power can control this decision.

Strong message to US leadership

The official also spoke about Donald Trump. He said Iran will not accept pressure on war timing. He stressed that Iran will continue its defence efforts. Moreover, he warned of strong actions against its enemies. As a result, tensions in the region remain high.

Role of regional countries

Reports suggest that Pakistan delivered the US proposal to Iran. In addition, Türkiye may host future talks. These efforts aim to reduce tensions in the Gulf region. However, no agreement has been reached so far.

Iran has responded negatively to an American proposal aimed at ending the ongoing imposed war, insisting that any cessation of hostilities will only occur on Tehran’s own terms and timeline, a senior political-security official told Press TV on Wednesday.https://t.co/2foRQj5kJw

Iran’s five key conditions

Iran has set clear conditions to end the conflict.

  • First, all attacks and targeted killings must stop completely.
  • Second, there must be guarantees to prevent future wars.
  • Third, Iran wants payment for war damages.
  • Fourth, the conflict must end across all regions. This includes groups allied with Iran.
  • Fifth, Iran demands control over the Strait of Hormuz.

It also wants global recognition of this right. Therefore, Iran insists that all conditions must be accepted.

Talks and ongoing tensions

Iran has told mediators that no talks will happen yet. It said a ceasefire depends on meeting its demands. Meanwhile, the White House shared a different view. Officials say talks with Iran are still ongoing. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt called the discussions productive. However, she warned against false media reports.

She said some reported plans are not fully accurate. Still, she confirmed that some details are true. Trump comments on negotiations Earlier, Donald Trump spoke about the situation. He said the US is currently in talks with Iran. He also mentioned receiving a “big present” recently. However, he did not explain what it was.

He suggested it was linked to the Strait of Hormuz. This area remains critical for global oil supply.

.@POTUS on Iran: “We’re in negotiations right now… I can tell you, they’d like to make a deal — and who wouldn’t if you were there? Look, their navy’s gone, their air force is gone, their communications are gone… pretty much everything they have is gone.” pic.twitter.com/PlEpYkGbyA

Situation remains uncertain

The conflict has lasted for several weeks now. As a result, global energy prices have increased. Iran has partly blocked the Strait in response to attacks. Therefore, shipping and oil markets face serious risks. Overall, both sides continue to send mixed signals. The path to peace still appears unclear.
