Iran launched missile strikes on the southern Israeli towns of Dimona and Arad. The attacks came in response to an assault on Iran’s Natanz nuclear facility earlier. These strikes mark a major escalation in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran.

Iranian state television described the attacks as retaliation. This signals a new and dangerous phase in the tit-for-tat hostilities. Civilians in both towns faced panic and confusion as sirens warned of incoming missiles.

Casualties and Damage in Arad

Emergency services reported over 100 injuries across both towns. In Arad alone, 88 people were wounded, including ten in serious condition. Rescue teams rushed to remove rubble and provide medical care.

The city centre of Arad suffered extensive damage. Several residential buildings collapsed. Streets were littered with debris, and residents were evacuated from unsafe areas. Authorities urged everyone to remain indoors for safety.

Dimona Hit Near Nuclear Facility

Dimona, home to Israel’s main nuclear facility, also faced missile strikes. Thirty-nine people were injured, including a 10-year-old boy in critical condition. Multiple residential buildings were destroyed, causing major disruption.

Officials in Dimona stressed that the strikes near a nuclear site are especially dangerous. Civilian safety became a top priority as emergency crews worked through the night.

Background of the Conflict

The conflict began after alleged attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities. Iran accused Israel of sabotaging the Natanz enrichment plant. The missile strikes represent Iran’s immediate retaliation and show the fragile state of regional security.

Military analysts warned that such attacks could escalate into broader conflict. Both nations remain on high alert, with tensions escalating week by week.

Response and International Concern

Hospitals in Dimona and Arad are treating many injured residents. Authorities urged calm and provided safety instructions. International organizations voiced concern about the rising civilian risk.

Diplomats called for restraint and dialogue to prevent further escalation. They emphasized the need to avoid targeting nuclear or populated areas.

Regional Implications

These attacks highlight the fragile situation in the Middle East. Any missile strike on nuclear or civilian sites can trigger large-scale conflict. Emergency teams continue to work in both towns. Authorities are still assessing the full extent of damage. Governments worldwide closely monitor the situation and issue warnings to citizens.

The coming days may determine whether this conflict escalates or remains localized. Citizens are urged to stay alert and follow official instructions.
