Karachi Launches New E-Challan System for Traffic Violations

A new e-challan system has been officially launched in Karachi, Sindh, to automatically record traffic rule violations using advanced cameras.

During the launch ceremony, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said that people using all kinds of vehicles — including cars, motorcycles, and rickshaws — often break traffic rules. He added that this new system is a big step toward digital transparency and modernization in the province.

The chief minister explained that modern governance must be smart, efficient, and accountable. He said Sindh is once again taking the lead in adopting new technology for better management.

Murad Ali Shah also mentioned that the e-challan system will help remove human involvement and bias, providing fair service and better protection for the public.

Under this project, the number of cameras will be increased to 12,000, and the system will gradually be expanded to other parts of Sindh. Special tracking centers have also been set up to help and guide citizens.
