The Pakistan Auto Show 2025 has created major buzz this year, and one of the most anticipated launches is the MG Binguo EV — a compact electric hatchback many are calling the “Suzuki Alto Killer.” Although MG is promoting the car under its own brand, it is essentially the Wuling Binguo EV, manufactured by SAIC-GM-Wuling, the same global group behind MG. For Pakistan’s growing EV market, this marks the arrival of a well-tested international model designed for budget-conscious buyers.
Power, Range, and Performance
The MG Binguo EV is equipped with a 50 kW electric motor and a 31.9 kWh LFP battery, delivering an estimated 333 km driving range under the CLTC standard. While real-world mileage is typically lower, the car still offers more than enough range for everyday needs.
Most urban commuters in Karachi, Lahore, or Islamabad cover 25 to 40 km daily, meaning a full battery could last nearly a week without recharging. With a top speed of about 120 km/h, the Binguo is ideal for city driving and short inter-city trips.

Charging: Quick and Convenient
Charging remains a key concern for EV buyers in Pakistan, and the Binguo addresses it with practical timings:
- AC Home Charging: ~5.5 hours
- DC Fast Charging: 30–35 minutes (30% to 80%)
- This makes overnight home charging easy—no more fuel station queues or high fuel costs.
Modern Interior with Smart Features
Despite being a subcompact EV, the Binguo’s interior feels modern and spacious. Key features include:
- Dual 10.25-inch digital displays
- Keyless entry
- Multiple storage compartments
- Foldable rear seats for added cargo space
- Clean, minimalistic dashboard design
- The foldable seats make it suitable for groceries, university bags, or weekend luggage, appealing to small families and young professionals.
Safety Features for Urban Families
MG is positioning the Binguo as a safe and reliable urban EV. Its safety package includes:
- Dual airbags
- ABS
- Electronic Stability Control
- Rearview camera
- ISOFIX mounts for child seats
These features make the Binguo safer than many popular hatchbacks currently on Pakistani roads. Global markets also offer higher-range and more powerful variants, hinting that MG may expand the lineup in Pakistan later.
New Variants and Additional Models
SAIC-GM-Wuling has recently introduced the “Binguo S” with an extended-range battery internationally, though MG has not confirmed if this version will arrive in Pakistan.
MG has also showcased its U9 pickup truck at the Auto Show, signaling the company’s intention to enter Pakistan’s growing pickup and commercial vehicle segment.
Pricing and Launch Timeline Still Unknown
MG has not yet revealed pricing, booking details, or after-sales plans for the Binguo EV. However, industry experts expect the company to position it as an affordable option for city users seeking low running costs and modern features.
