PAA Cancels NOTAM, Islamabad Airport Flights

The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has withdrawn a previously issued Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) regarding flight operations at Islamabad International Airport.

According to a spokesperson for the authority, flight operations scheduled between 8:30am and 10:30am on March 16 will now continue as normal, and there will be no suspension of flights during this period.

The authority also confirmed that a temporary airspace restriction in the Lahore Flight Information Region has been withdrawn, allowing regular aviation activity to resume.

Earlier, on March 14, the PAA had issued a NOTAM announcing the temporary closure of six sectors within the Lahore Flight Information Region on March 16, which would have prevented commercial aircraft from landing or taking off at Islamabad airport during the specified hours.

Previously, on March 2, the authority had also suspended certain air routes within the Karachi Flight Information Region and the Lahore Flight Information Region during specific hours.

These precautionary measures were taken amid the ongoing regional tensions involving Iran, Israel, and the United States, which have disrupted air operations across several countries in the region. Along with commercial passenger flights, air cargo services were also affected during the period of heightened security concerns.
