PM Shehbaz to Visit Riyadh from October 27 to 29 for Investment Talks

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will visit Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from October 27 to 29, 2025, to attend the Ninth Future Investment Initiative (FII9). He will lead a high-level delegation to discuss ways to strengthen economic and investment cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, according to a statement from the Foreign Office.

The FII9 will bring together world leaders, investors, and innovators to discuss the theme, “The Key to Prosperity: Unlocking New Frontiers of Growth.” The event will focus on global issues such as innovation, sustainability, economic inclusion, and changes in the world economy.

The Foreign Office said that the visit is being made at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. Prime Minister Shehbaz will be accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, along with other senior cabinet members.

During his stay in Riyadh, the prime minister will hold meetings with Saudi leaders to discuss closer cooperation in trade, investment, energy, and human resource development. They will also talk about regional and international matters of shared concern.

On the sidelines of the conference, PM Shehbaz will meet leaders from other countries and heads of international organizations. These meetings will promote Pakistan’s investment potential and its plans for partnerships in sustainable development under the “Think, Exchange, and Act” model.

According to the Foreign Office, this visit shows Pakistan’s strong commitment to boosting economic diplomacy and building partnerships in investment, technology, and sustainable growth.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia share deep and long-standing ties based on mutual economic interests, strategic cooperation, and shared Islamic values. Over the years, Saudi Arabia has been a major source of financial support and oil supply to Pakistan.

Last month, both countries signed a new defence agreement stating that any attack on one would be considered an attack on both.

In 2024, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia signed 34 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) worth $2.8 billion, following an earlier agreement of 27 MoUs valued at $2.2 billion.
