Sindh Government announced a new Scooty Training Program for women and female students

Sindh’s Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has announced a new Scooty Training Program for women and female students in Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Larkana. The goal of this program is to promote women’s empowerment and provide eco-friendly transport options across the province.

During a meeting of the Transport Department in Karachi, Memon discussed several ongoing and upcoming transport projects. It was decided that the Scooty Training Program will start soon in the three cities and will later be expanded to more areas.

The training will be organized in partnership with a private company. Women who successfully complete the program will also receive free driving licenses. Memon said this initiative will help women gain confidence, independence, and new job opportunities.

He also mentioned that the Taj Haider Flyover, a key part of the Yellow Line BRT project, has been completed and will be opened to the public soon. Additionally, a new electric bus route from Gulshan-e-Maymar to Tower will be launched, featuring 15 electric buses.

To improve public transport in other cities, the government plans to add 20 new buses in Khairpur, Shikarpur, and Naushahro Feroze. A new fleet of double-decker and electric buses is also expected to arrive in Karachi.

Memon further announced that an Electric Vehicle (EV) Taxi Service will start in December. In its first phase, 30 Pink EV taxis will be driven by trained female drivers.

According to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the Pink Scooty Program will make it easier for women to travel safely and comfortably to their workplaces.
