Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has announced a new route for the women-only Pink Bus Service, which will start operating on Monday (tomorrow).
The new route will run from Abdullah Chowk in Surjani Town to Numaish. The service will be available at three specific times during the day: from 8:00 am to 9:00 am, 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, and 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Memon said the bus service is exclusively for women, focusing on comfort, safety, and better arrangements. He explained that women in a large city like Karachi often face challenges while commuting, and this new service aims to make their daily travel easier and safer.
The Sindh government wants to support women in pursuing education, work, and personal activities with confidence, Memon added. The buses will be equipped with security features, tracking systems, and will have trained staff to ensure safety.
Memon also mentioned that this service will be expanded to more areas in the future. He emphasized that the initiative is an important step toward creating a safer environment for women in urban areas.
The Sindh government will continue to take practical actions to improve facilities for women, he concluded.
