Watch: Ahmed Hussain Takes Stunning Catch Against India in U19 Asia Cup

Pakistan’s U19 team bowled out India for just 240 runs in their ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup 2025 match on Sunday at the ICC Academy. One of the most exciting moments of the match came from Pakistan’s middle-order batter, Ahmed Hussain, who made a brilliant catch in the field.

Ahmed had already made a name for himself in the tournament after scoring a match-winning century against Malaysia in Pakistan’s opening game on Friday. In this match, he impressed again, but this time with his fielding.

In the 20th over of India’s innings, Pakistan’s left-arm spinner Niqab Shafiq bowled a ball outside the off stump. India’s Vedant Trivedi went for a cut shot but couldn’t control the ball. Ahmed, fielding at short third man, reacted quickly and dived to his right to take a stunning low catch. The dismissal reduced India to 113 for 4, and Pakistan’s players rushed to congratulate Ahmed for his fantastic catch.

The momentum shifted in Pakistan’s favor after that moment, and they continued to apply pressure on India. By the end of the 31st over, India was struggling at 174 for 6. Right-arm pacer Abdul Subhan played a key role, taking two important wickets. He first dismissed Abhigyan Kundu, getting him caught behind on the first ball of his eighth over, and then took out India’s top batter Aaron George. George had scored 85 runs off 88 balls, including 12 fours and a six, but his wicket halted India’s progress.

Pakistan’s bowlers and fielders, including Ahmed Hussain’s brilliant catch, made it a strong team effort in their victory against India.
