Today an explosion and gunfire rock Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar neighborhood in Karachi. Residents of Gulistan-e-Johar are in panic and fear.
Resident of Meteorological Chowrangi of University Road disclosed that this incident shooting started with a blast and then after short while gunfire sounds heard.
Rescue 1122 has confirmed that an information of blast near Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block 5 call was received. The Central Command and Control send rescue team to the spot rigtaway Rescue workers have tried to approch the location.
A large number of police officers were also deployed to the site following the reports.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah took immediate notice of the situation. He personally reached out to both the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh and the Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karachi to get updates on the ground.
According to the Chief Minister’s spokesperson, Murad Ali Shah has asked the Additional IGP Karachi for a full and detailed report on the incident. He gave clear instructions to police — find out what caused the incident, get to the scene without wasting any time, and make sure every necessary step is taken to handle the situation properly.
The cause of the explosion and gunfire is still under investigation.
