KARACHI: A government school from Sindh has put Pakistan on the world map. Govt Girls Lower Secondary School Tando Mir Ghulam Hussain, Hyderabad, is now among the top 10 schools in the world. It got this position in the Community Collaboration category. The award is called the World’s Best School Prizes 2026 and is given by T4 Education.

T4 Education works to find and celebrate good schools from different countries. The World’s Best School Prizes are known as one of the top education awards in the world. Every year schools apply in five areas. These are Community Collaboration, Environmental Action, Innovation, Overcoming Adversity, and Supporting Healthy Lives.

This year thousands of schools from many countries applied for the prize. A group of international experts looked at all the applications one by one. After checking everything, they picked just 10 schools in each category from the whole world.
Pakistan got two schools on this list which is a good thing. One is a private school from Punjab. The other one is this government school from Hyderabad. A private school making such a list is one thing. But a government school from Sindh doing it is something else completely.
The school worked very closely with people living around it. It held campaigns to spread awareness in the area. Mothers, fathers and local people joined school events and activities. The school also started STEAM learning for its girls. This covers Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. Girls got to learn things in a practical way rather than just reading books. The school also looked after the full growth of every student, inside and outside the classroom.
Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said well done to the school. Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah also praised their hard work. Both of them gave credit to the principal, teachers, girls, parents and the whole community. They said this win does not belong to one school only. They said every person in Sindh and Pakistan should feel proud today.
The school is still in the top 10 list and the final winner is not decided yet. T4 Education will pick one school from each category after the judging is done. These top 10 schools can also win the Community Choice Award. That award is given based on votes from the public. People from Pakistan can vote and help this school go even further.
